Vanessa Bruce-Miller, LMSW is a Jamaican born survivor and queer woman who’s pronouns are She and They. The complexities of Vee’s identity have been integral in shaping their consulting practice towards a mindful, relational, artistic, spiritual, anti-oppressive, and somatic based path. Vanessa is deeply invested in utilizing humanistic and strength based approaches in supporting marginalized individuals in meeting their wellness goals. Vanessa holds a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from CUNY Hunter College that has bolstered her career and passion for advocacy.
As a therapist, Vanessa addresses an array of concerns including: racial distress, anxiety, spirituality, work distress, creative blocks, sexuality and gender, multicultural issues, trauma, and LGBTQ affirming care. She has two particular interests: (1) Mindful-Based Cognitive Therapy within communities with complex identities (2) Utilizing the power of creativity and spirituality.
