I empower women and individuals to navigate through the crossroads and transitions in life in order to help them live their best lives. My goal is to create a safe space for clients to hear themselves think and help them develop the tools to manage the emotional stress associated with transitions. I have successfully navigated many of life’s transitions and I have learned that at every crossroad and every transition in life, there are lessons to be learned and it is a time of growth. In my practice, I aim to create a safe place to examine the struggles and opportunities that are present with every transition that life presents, and to be a partner on the journey of growth and learning. My post graduate studies focused on how African American women navigate the challenges of selecting a partner for a romantic relationship while dealing with the transition of becoming a parent. Professionally, I have worked with women at various crossroads in life; starting and/or ending romantic relationships, educational and career opportunities and challenges, grandparents raising grandchildren, and adult children becoming caregivers for aging parents. Because research has shown that transitions in life trigger physical and emotional stress responses in the body, and having coping skills to effectively manage the stress of life’s crossroads can provide the emotional stamina needed to thrive, I offer relationship counseling, individual counseling for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I have been working in the field of human services for 20 years and I use clinically tested and evidence based interventions in my work with clients. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania, I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University, and a Ph.D in Social Work from Widener University. I am an adjunct professor at Delaware County Community College. I was the keynote speaker for the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Workers in 2017 and I have facilitated two trainings on the Black Lives Matter movement in order to provide culturally competent therapy in 2017. I am happy to announce the opening of my new office in Media, PA!
