Hello I am Valencia Hargrove, LPC. I only provide virtual sessions in the states of Virginia and Florida. I look forward to partnering with you on this new journey.
I have 15 years of experience providing mental health and substance use disorder services to adults. I specialize in supporting women experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and reproductive health concerns. I think it’s difficult to find balance in the many roles we have as women. I am a planner and as we all know, even the best plans can fall apart. However, I usually try to look at things from a glass half-empty perspective. Through my own self-exploration, I have learned to embrace me as just as I am. As women and mothers, we have so many things to manage and navigate our way through on a daily basis. Often neglecting our own self-care needs. I help new moms who maybe uncertain of all the emotional changes that occur during pregnancy. I help moms who struggle with feeling like themselves again after giving birth. I help moms who are going through rounds of IVF treatments, and needing some unbiased support. So, if you are ready to focus on your own emotional wellness, I’d love to help you get there.
My approach to treatment is eclectic and combines a blend of treatment modalities. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, emotional freedom techniques and tapping, and mindfulness-based interventions in my work with clients.
I provide a safe and compassionate space for healing. Together we create strategies to help you transition to a better and whole you. Women’s Wellness Center does not accept any insurance. Self pay for therapy gives you the freedom to have more sessions, respects your privacy, and provides you the ability to work on issues that are important to your well-being. When you are using insurance, I am required to give you a mental health diagnosis, provide your treatment plan, and progress notes to your insurer. So that they may determine if the therapy services provided meet medical necessity criteria for therapeutic treatment. Also, using insurance can limit the number of sessions you have with a therapist. Therapy is not cookie cutter and nor should it be. With a self pay option you have more control of your treatment goals.
