Hello, I’m Traneaka Turner, a licensed marriage and family therapist in California. As a person of color, seeking out mental health support can be difficult, in addition, finding a therapist of color can be even more difficult. I am here to be a space for you to navigate these onset of difficulties as you transition into your healing journey.
I like to think of change into two parts: insight and motivation; and you have demonstrated both by taking this step towards personal healing and growth. So, my role in your journey is to assist you with learning to cherish each step as we work towards your desires for therapy. My approach with you will be to establish comfort, trust, and safety through our rapport. I will be empathetic and compassionate. I will uplift you with your strengths and assist you with gaining more. I utilize humor when appropriate and will push you towards your full potential through challenging you and being direct so you can access your greater self. In short, my delivery is straightforward with sprinkles on top because it comes from pure intentions and care.
With working with highly motivated individuals, my specialties are low self-esteem, relational difficulties, anxiety, attachment wounds, and navigating generational traumas. I implement an integrative approach within my work with you to treat all parts of you. There are so many aspects of life that impact us as people and in order to provide the best service each intricate piece of you must be considered.
