Description

I earned my Masters of Social Work (M.S.W.) from the Columbia University School of Social Work at Columbia University, and my Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from the Rutgers University School of Social Work. I am currently undergoing advanced training at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP), a progressive psychoanalytic training institute. I have worked in community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric units, and jails. I have extensive experience with trauma, depression, LGBTQIA+, race/cultural identity, anxiety, couples, CPTSD, substance use, life transitions, codependency, and personality disorders.
Psychological autonomy enacts a self-reflective way of being, centering on the examination and reflective awareness of personal desires, wishes and intentions. The exploration of how one's mind, emotions, and behaviors have been influenced by their life experiences allows for the possibly of freedom of choice and agency.
I will accompany you on your journey of self discovery in an effort to live more authentically. The past cannot be changed. However, the exploration and understanding of your past can help you to understand your thinking, feelings, and behaviors, as well as to meet the current challenges in your life.
