Description
Tomyra is a licensed social worker who brings sincerity, warmth, and a calm presence to therapy. She is committed to providing a safe space for her clients to work through the difficulties that life may bring. She draws from a variety of frameworks with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, using a strengths-based and empowerment approach. Tomyra also believes in working together with individuals, families, and couples to create a meaningful solution to overcome obstacles and emotional and psychological challenges.
Tomyra holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Relations from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, and she earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Gallaudet University. Tomyra then decided she wanted to fulfill her other passion and graduated with an Associates Degree in American Sign Language/English Interpreting from Community College of Philadelphia.
Since graduating from Gallaudet University, Tomyra has made it a priority to work with marginalized populations. She has experience working with adolescents, families, couples, adults, and seniors. Her therapeutic focus includes Grief, Depression, Trauma/PTSD, Anxiety, Life Transitions, and many more. Tomyra looks forward to connecting with you on your path to wellness.
Tomyra accepts Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, TriCare East, Highmark Health Options, and Amerihealth Caritas Delaware. Tomyra also offers a fair self-pay rate if clients are not able to use/do not have insurance benefits.
