Therapy Brooklyn is a group practice owned and operated by BIPOC clinicians. We offer individual, family and couples therapy. Our therapy is strengths based, collaborative and goal directed. We offer sliding scale.

The following therapists have openings:

Nehanda (Neh) Thom: Nehanda is a first generation American, born and raised in Brooklyn, with parents hailing from the West Indies. Nehanda utilizes a person centered approach to ensure clients feel supported and validated. She has a special interest in working with women who suffer from mood disorders and anxiety. Nehanda uses a trauma informed approach to teach clients emotional regulation skills.

Adina LaFare: Adina offers individual and couples counseling. They integrate aspects of solution-focused therapy and reality therapy in order to support those experiencing depression and anxiety, along with those seeking to navigate through roles and expressions related to gender and sexual orientation. Adina seeks to empower clients in regaining confidence and control in order to lead more authentic and fulfilling lives.

Kevin Cox: Kevin Cox is a therapist of Caribbean descent that believes in the power of empathy in the therapeutic process, and utilizes a person-centered approach. Kevin perceives therapy as a private space in which clients can explore their identity, as well as their potential for growth. Kevin provides a nonjudgmental and welcoming atmosphere, in which individuals can be themselves.

Group Therapy Details

Currently offering a support group called The kickback NYC for Black identified individuals who moved to NYC and are looking to create communicate and combat loneliness and isolation that can come from acclimating to a new place.

In the fall we are starting a group for new parents, this group is for couples who are navigating parenthood for the first time and are looking for support to ensure that their partnership remains strong throughout this difficult transition.
