My name is Jenea Gaston Molden a Licensed Professional, National Certified Counselor, and the Owner and Operator of The Balancing Bar with experience in empowering individuals to find healing, growth, and success. I have 9 years of extensive clinical experience with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families in schools, private practice, judicial, healthcare, college, outpatient and inpatient treatment settings. I have an impeccable background with utilizing the latest evidence-based therapeutic techniques including dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-focused and cognitive therapy with advanced knowledge in brief therapy and solution-focused child and young counseling methods. I specialize in Anxiety and Depression Disorders. I have extensive experience working with Anxiety, Depression, Life Stage Transitions, Grief, and Relationships. My focus population is teens, couples, adult individuals, and families.
The Balancing Bar was created out of lessons of my own as I struggled with Perfectionism. Everything had to be perfect! And that is just unrealistic. I eventually learned, with the help of my personal therapist, that the idea of perfectionism is self-abuse. I began to change the word Perfect to Satisfied. I am not saying to substitute satisfaction for everything. We can't just go through life with minimal expectations of ourselves and putting forth little effort in completing tasks just to say that it is complete, however we do need to draw the line somewhere.
As a Counselor, I am here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters in a safe and supportive environment. I truly care about my clients' well-being and guarantee top of the line counseling and psychological services catered to their needs.
Individual well-being is my number one priority, and I go above and beyond to help them through all their obstacles. Get in touch with me today for more information.
I completed my Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at Georgia Southwestern State University and three subsequent degrees at Troy University including Master of Science (M.S.) in Post Secondary Education with a concentration in Psychology, Master of Science (M.S) in Counseling & Psychology and Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Community Counseling. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University.
