Dr. Tanesha Walker specializes in interpersonal therapeutic practices through a cultural feminist framework. She has experience working with communities of color, specifically African American individuals and women of color. Dr. Walker also has experience working with the college population including work with LGBTQ+ folx and couples counseling. She has conducted research in the areas of cross-cultural counseling, African American mental health, social justice, and advocacy work. Dr. Walker has presented on the national, regional, state, and local levels. She currently works as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo and as a counselor at Kintsukuroi Mental Health and Wellness Services, LLC.
Dr. Walker states, "It is my belief that counseling is a journey in which we (i.e., therapist and client) walk together to help the client with whatever issues they may be faced with along the way. As a cis-woman of color who has worked with a wide array of diverse clients, I believe that I am in a position to provide quality, inclusive mental health services to ALL people, regardless of background."
