Tamika Covington is a licensed social worker based in New York City. She is passionate about supporting her client’s individual needs and identifying strategies and tools that would allow them to become better versions of themselves.
In sessions, Tamika encourages clients to ask questions and to share therapeutic goals and expectations they may have. Tamika also works with clients to identify circumstances, feelings and relationships that they would like to discuss. Tamika is very personable and open to feedback.Tamika integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing within her sessions and on some occasions suggests additional work/practice outside of her time with her clients. Tamika has over 10 years of experience helping teens and adults navigate and talk through the complexities of clinical diagnosis, negative self-image, and trauma. Whether a client is new to therapy or returning to work on their therapeutic goals, Tamika is intentional about ensuring her clients feel heard, understood and welcomed!
