My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that each individual is an expert regarding their own life and experiences. With that, I aim to collaborate with individuals in increasing awareness around their own strengths that can then be utilized as tools to create change to promote self empowerment and positive mental health outcomes.
As a therapist, I utilize different evidenced-based practices including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy to guide the therapeutic process based on the expressed need of the individual. I have experience in areas of depression, anxiety, adjustment to major life stressors, loss and trauma.
I recognize that the journey towards goals is not always linear in nature and strongly encourage practicing self-compassion. A strong therapeutic alliance is important to me, and I aim to provide a safe and secure space where individuals feel that their experiences are being heard and validated.
