My experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. My specific knowledge includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, loss, bereavement, maternal mental health, women's issues, life transition and aging (beginning in young adulthood through the senior years), reduced life satisfaction, underdeveloped coping skills, unhealthy perspectives, in addition to trauma and inherited trauma from life experiences.
In my practice I use multicultural and multimodal approaches to address the unique experience of each client. I gently guide clients utilizing therapeutic modalities including Narrative Therapy, Black Psychology, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Black Feminist Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address unique individual concerns in a way that incorporates my clients' entire life experience and cultural identity. I believe that the way in which a person experiences their world and the people in it is directly linked to the journey in the counseling process. Therefore, I work to understand my clients from a holistic perspective addressing their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. I guarantee that I will hold space for you in a non-judgemental and safe way.
