Description
My Passion:
I am passionate about helping others tap into their inner strengths and identify what may be in their path preventing healing and growth. I challenge my clients in ways that create an “ah ha” experience. I am also dedicated to helping those seeking to overcome alcohol and/or substance use dependence begin their journey to rise and maintain a healthier, sober lifestyle.
About Me:
My clinical experience includes holding space for survivors of trauma, couples and families, and clients desiring to overcome substance use disorders. Additionally, I counsel those seeking to address issues related to anxiety, depression, and grief and loss (to name a few).
Also, I am an advocate for Black men and women. I do not take for granted being able to assist in bridging the Black mental health gap, while creating pathways that influence future generations.
My Approach to Therapy:
I approach counseling through an eclectic lens where I incorporate a variety of theories and utilize evidence-based approaches such as Somatic Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Family Systems Therapy.
Additionally, I work from a Liberation Psychology framework. I craft a culturally congruent space to discuss internalized oppression, intergenerational trauma and ancestral wounds.
I look forward to assisting you in your journey to rise!
I am under the supervision of Kathleen Morgan, MA, LMFT, LAC.
