Mrs. Agunenye is a caring, compassionate, and passionate adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with a Doctorate in Philosophy. She has been in the healthcare profession for 20 years. Dr. Agunenye welcomes patients across the lifespan, and she has experience with child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. Her experience has helped her possess strong clinical skills to address a wide range of mental health conditions, such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, panic attacks, sleep disorder, substance use disorder, and other mental health challenges. Dr. Agunenye has worked as a mental health nurse in different hospitals, including Shepherd Pratt Hospital, Sinai Hospital, and Good Samaritan Hospital, for several years before moving on to obtain her master’s degree in nursing (MSN) at Walden University to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Agunenye educates and collaborates on patients' care to improve their course of treatment. She also conducts psychiatric evaluations and implements treatment plans, medication management, and supportive therapy following evidence-based guidelines combined with clinical experience as a PMHNP.
