I'm Simara, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified in Perinatal Mental Health and Founder of Strength & Serenity Counseling, LLC. I am currently licensed and see clients virtually in Florida, Georgia, and Missouri.
I highly value the experience of being there for others and hold therapy as a sacred partnership between therapist and client. It is with deep empathy, compassion, and sincerity that I approach treatment for my clients. I feel honored to be able to walk alongside you through the most ugly, scary, and difficult of times. It takes immense courage and strength to acknowledge the need for help and even more to do something about it.
My history as a child of a recovering addict exposed me to a unique view of the human struggle created a sensitivity to the pain and hardship that individuals and families endure on their journey to health and healing. In my own struggle I found a calling to therapy. I have served individuals, couples, and families for over 10 years practicing psychotherapy.
My passion for maternal mental health was born out of some of my most devastating moments. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, my mother passed during my second pregnancy, and third pregnancy happened less than a month of relocating my family to Florida. I have experienced the wide range of joy to grief while on my journey of motherhood. I have heard so many stories like mine of mothers struggling and just trying to make it. Through therapy, I strive to help new mothers, new parents, new families to face the challenges of parenthood and flourish.
