Description
Too often, we equate caring for our mental and emotional health with weakness and failure - especially when we're taught that our "strength" is based on our ability to handle the stresses of everyday life without "cracking". I've dedicated my career to overcoming this myth by helping young adults and adults develop wellness plans that promote emotional and mental balance, internal peace, and positive coping and communication skills.
I believe there is no one way of providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that transforms patterns of problematic thinking or behaviors thus changing the way you feel in conjunction with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful and integrative psychotherapy approach that is technique used to relieve emotional stresses. I am also a firm believer in meeting my clients where they're at while utilizing an eclectic approach to cater to each individual's needs.
My expertise includes: PTSD & stress management, substance abuse, mood disorders, grief, anxiety, sexual trauma, physical & emotional abuse, and LGBTQ+, and women's issues. I also have experience providing psychoeducation and prevention for individuals within the judicial system.
