I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern (RMFTI), and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with the State of Florida. I am also a Board Certified Transgender Care Specialist, through the International Transgender Certification Association (ITCA) and a CLEAR Interventionist, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
I am a solution-focused, multi-culturally competent, mental health, and systems-focused counselor, who provides psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. My areas of focus include issues/symptoms related to depression, anxiety, stress and anger management, self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, couples’ and family issues, such as conflict patterns, ineffective communication styles, emotional reactivity, blended families, separation/divorce, and substance use.
I am trained in and primarily utilize treatment modalities that include, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Techniques, Family Systems, and Life-Skills Training.
I am also extensively skilled and trained in providing therapeutic, support, and linkage services to members of the LGBTQA community, with a specialized focus in care to Persons Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWH), relationship and substance use issues, and transgender care as set forth by The World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH).
