I am Shari Simon, a social worker who was trained at Columbia University. I currently work under the supervision of Amira Crawford, LCSW-R, in Brooklyn, NY. While I am a newly trained social worker, I have worked in social services and counseling roles for the past ten years. A lot of my experience is rooted in providing resources, therapeutic services and mental health care to communities, families and individuals of all ages.
As an education and justice professor, I am passionate about inclusion and diversity. That passion translates into how I approach my therapeutic relationships. Therapy is an interdependent process between client and therapist. You are the expert of your life experiences and I have studied therapeutic modalities. Together, we can get you to where you want to be: whole, healed and happy.
Struggling with stress? Feeling frustrated? Unsure how to cope with recent changes? Lingering feelings of unworthiness? Experiencing burnout? Whether these feelings stem from work, relationships, life transitions or something else, I can support you in accessing strategies to overcome these issues. I will deliver quality therapy services with customized treatment plans and resources based on your unique needs.
Within my ten years of experience, I have worked with a diverse group of people including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQIA+, religious, military, law enforcement, mental health and immigrant/first-generation communities. I have worked with toddlers to seniors. I also enjoy working with couples and families.
If you are interested in working with me please contact me to set up a consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
