As a therapist, my primary focus is on promoting education, empowerment, and personal growth.
My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of how your experiences have impacted you and to guide you through the process of personal development. While I take my work seriously, I also have a sense of humor that allows me to be flexible and meet you where you are in your therapeutic journey. I strive to foster accountability and work closely with you to set and achieve meaningful goals within our therapeutic relationship.
During our sessions, I will assist you in identifying how your efforts to suppress, manage, or control your emotions may be causing difficulties in your life. By working together, you will learn how to create room for these emotions and live a more fulfilling life centered around your values, rather than focusing on avoiding challenges. Remember, as you are solely responsible for yourself, it's important to prioritize your own well-being and personal growth. I am here to support you on this journey.
My experience includes working with clients on various life challenges, such as managing stress, anxiety, depression, and overcoming the effects of abuse on their relationships. Drawing from my own personal experiences with trauma, I understand the importance of healthy coping mechanisms and have seen firsthand the transformative impact they can have on one's life.
I have observed that dysfunctional family structures, a lack of emotional maturity, and limited exposure to healthy communication and relationships have a significant impact on my clients. As a result, I offer psychoeducation, role-play, and self-reflection exercises to guide and enlighten my clients.
In therapy, I utilize CBT techniques to help you understand how your thoughts influence your behavior and emotions. Together, we can work to replace unhealthy coping mechanisms with healthy skills.
