Life has a way of breaking us down. Oftentimes, our past traumas, discrimination, anxiety and depression have a way of convincing us that we are weak, not good enough or that there is something wrong with us. Therapy can be a place to freely talk about how life stressors have impacted you and discover ways to cope with those stressors. My goal as a therapist is to help you discover and enhance your strengths, while encouraging you to use them to your advantage. You are the expert in your own life and happiness; my job is to help you uncover what that means for you. I am passionate about providing a warm, non judgemental, empathetic space for you to safely explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a way that encourages growth, healing and improved quality of life. I can offer a new perspective, help build insight and find tools to help you move throughout the world. During our time together, you will be the one leading, and I will be alongside you, providing encouragement and support through the process. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, self esteem issues, racism-related struggles, and life transitions. I am a trauma informed, anti-oppressive, relationally oriented, identity affirming therapist with an eclectic therapeutic style. I use many interventions to best support clients’ individual needs. I have experience implementing cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, mindfulness, narrative and motivational interviewing techniques.
