My name is Robinsine James Sarli. I was born and lived part of my early years in South Carolina during the Jim Crow era. The experience of growing up poor tenant farmers, with very little housing and financial security, help shaped my desire to be independent and self-reliant.
In my immediate family, I was the first to complete high school and graduate college. I attended the City College of New York at night, while working full time to support myself. I graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minor in Psychology. During that period over 40 + years ago as well as today’s time, the limited visibility and access to positive Black role models continues to negatively impact our communities of color. I would like to change that scenario in whatever way I can.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Certified Hypnotherapist working in the New York City area. As a graduate of The Hunter School of Social Work my focus was primarily in clinical psychotherapy working with families and children.
As a therapist and coach, I specialize in stress management and believe in teaching stress management to all new clients, no matter what the goal. It is proven that stress plays a major role in compulsive and addictive behaviors, and the various illnesses attributed to or exacerbated by stress. When one’s ability to deal with stress is addressed, many other issues become manageable or non-existent.
I started my private practice to help empower individuals to tap into their innate power to heal themselves. I have found, it is more often our self-limiting beliefs that blocks us from achieving our dreams. In my journey through life, I have been studying and experiencing the power of the mind through meditation and healing for over 30+ years. My mantra is Helping you… Help yourself.
