I am originally from Chicago, Illinois where I grew up with my interracial parents, my twin sister and younger brother. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Family Studies with minors in Social Work and Psychology from Western Michigan University while on a full ride athletic scholarship for basketball. I moved to St. Louis in 2014 to pursue a master’s degree in School Counseling, graduating in 2018.

My interest in counseling began when I worked in the school systems in Michigan as a Youth Advocate where I provided youth group programs and facilitated teen dating violence prevention presentations in the area schools. I have had an array of experiences working with youth that involve community programming, prevention, advocacy, leadership and experiential learning that has helped me develop a person centered and strengths based perspective.

I am extremely passionate in working with pre-teens and teens in helping them navigate academic and social pressures, anxiety, depression, suicide prevention, as well as gender and racial identity. I find that my biggest strength involves my keen relatability to youth that makes it easy for them to connect with me and form a strong, trusting relationship.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and currently working as a Certified School Counselor in the St. Louis area. As a Certified School Counselor, I have experience treating behavioral issues, pursuing Section 504 or IDEA school accommodations, and helping students function successfully in the classroom setting.
