Description

Congratulations on taking this step toward your best self! You have enormous inner resources to start with; therapy helps you to uncover and tap into those strengths. Consider me your partner and guide on your journey to a deeper understanding of yourself and your emotional wellness.

I support women and couples who want to stress less, adapt to change, and connect more authentically with themselves and with others. Together we'll tackle issues like anxiety and stress, depression, trauma, and grief, using your strengths to promote self-acceptance, self-care and resiliency.

I view therapy through a narrative, multicultural, womanist lens; that means a heightened awareness of how culture and the stories we tell ourselves influence our self- and worldview. Against that backdrop, we’ll use our working relationship to explore how your thoughts, feelings and actions are interrelated, and how you can overcome obstacles to thrive.

In my holistic approach to therapy, we may also focus on how sleep, movement, eating and other lifestyle factors influence your overall wellbeing. Depending on your needs, we may engage Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), expressive arts, Internal Family Systems, Couples or other therapeutic approaches.

In my earlier work as a journalist, I covered health and wellness for many years. I've always been passionate about the power of story in our individual and collective healing. As a psychotherapist, I bring a rich curiosity, deep empathy, and an abiding love of empowering Black women and their families to helping you find your voice and live your purpose.

In many cases my services are insurance reimbursable out-of-network (check with your provider). I also take your financial situation into account when setting a sliding-scale fee. I aim to help you access affordable treatment.

I welcome your inquiry about how we might work together.
