Rikhonda Rovey MSN, PMHNP-BC

Rikhonda is a board certified, psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience to include, but not limited to, acute hospital care, inpatient psychiatry, and statewide travel nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University then a Masters Degree of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is licensed in Virginia. Rikhonda is a service-connected, US Army Veteran who served in Iraq during Operation Iraq Freedom. Several of her current and long-term goals include, improving medication management and clinical treatment of patients with mental illnesses throughout the lifespan, and providing education and training to both patients and health professionals in the area of mental illness. Due to her personal experiences during wartime, she both understands and is empathetic to many challenges servicemembers and their families encounter while trying to care for their reunited loved ones. She is also familiar with the obstacles and stigmas that exist when trying to obtain and coordinate mental health care services for oneself in addition to other possible family members.
