Are you a person who cannot help but pick poor partners? Do they often resemble those who hurt you most growing up? Do you want to feel safe enough in your skin to date again but haven’t quite moved past your sexual assault to do so? Or are you a couple struggling to recapture your sex drive after children, surgeries, break ups, growing apart, growing too close together, or some other twists in life? I am a sex therapist and trauma specialist. With care and compassion, I guide people through difficult issues like affairs, sexless relationships, sexual abuse, and problematic sexual behaviors. My certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) provides me with one of many expertise to treating survivors of sexual trauma. My goal is to help survivors regain a sense of control over their bodies and for couples to redevelop intimacy for stronger long-term relationships. I help people change their stories from “What’s wrong with me?” to “What happened to me?” Although, some people seek me out for help overcoming their sexual abuse and for improving their sexual health, you may have goals rooted in one area and not the other. That's okay! However, I believe the natural progression of healing from sexual abuse is sexual health. I am a kink- knowledgeable, poly-friendly, queer-friendly sex therapist. Even so, you need not subscribe to of any of these identities to see me. I also help people through other forms of abuse, such as grooming that did not progress to full molestation, childhood neglect, intimate partner violence, and physical violence. Finally, I can help you overcome general mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety as well as help you understand the impact on your relationships.
