Life can be difficult... especially as a person of color. We’re often faced with daily challenges that can adversely impact our mental health, such as social injustice and inequality, not to mention everyday life stressors. Whether your assertiveness is misinterpreted as being aggressive or you’re taught that being strong encompasses showing no emotion, I believe in the importance of cultivating a space for transparency, vulnerability, and the freedom of self-expression. I take a practical, direct, and supportive approach in helping you tap into your inner strength and resiliency.
My specialties include working with adolescents and adults, addressing a variety of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, poor self-esteem, relationship issues, and adjustment issues.
I am very passionate about reducing the stigma of mental health within the black and brown community as well as working with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) clients in addressing issues uniquely related to their experiences.
