Perrin Avent is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with over a decade of experience working with persons of diverse backgrounds experiencing mental, emotional, and social challenges. Based in Manhattan, NY, Perrin incorporates many psychodynamic approaches within her clinical practice including the infusion of creative modalities with traditional verbal methods.
Perrin's client-centered focus includes individual, family, and couple's therapy as well as developing and facilitating groups. She is adept in encouraging client engagement throughout the entire therapeutic process including self-work outside of sessions.
Through visual arts, verbal therapy, and other psychodynamic modalities, Perrin has developed an effective standard of best practices influenced by multi-cultural awareness to help people understand their own uniqueness and as well as to understand their perception of themselves within their communities. She believes the utilization of various psychodynamic practices can benefit the “whole” person and offer various therapeutic outlets which assist in helping one navigate life’s complexities.
