Difficult times and unexpected life changes happen. Relationships struggle and sometimes end. Hurt, stress, grief, depression and anxiety are often a result. Counseling allows you to explore the past within the context of the present and the unconscious. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor I offer a warm and empathetic personality and experience. My passion is to aid others in growing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Memphis in 2011. In 2014, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of West Alabama with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. For the past 10 years, I have worked exclusively with people with mental health issues. I am experienced in treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. Due to my background in clinical research, I am able to perform numerous neuropsychological and psychological assessments and batteries. I have worked with individuals on various issues such as depression, anxiety, co-occurring disorders, and physical and sexual abuse, specializing in PTSD and substance abuse. I offer social skills groups on anger management, co-parenting, behavior management, self-esteem, and blended families.
My counseling philosophy rests on the principle that each individual and each relationship is unique. This means I incorporate various therapeutic techniques based on the client’s need. I counsel some clients short term and others may choose to continue sessions long term. I see clients from all backgrounds and respect the views of each individual client. For those who desire, I incorporate faith, Scripture and prayer. I work hard to tailor the counseling to fit the needs and goals of each client.
