Hey! My name is Octavia Beyah (she/her) and I am a pre-licensed therapist from Philly currently working under the clinical supervision of Akeesha Washington, LPC (LPC License # PC010543). My work experience includes providing therapy in high schools, the juvenile justice system, hospitals and private practice settings. As a humanistic and trauma-informed therapist, I view my role as a collaborative partner in which we work together towards the goals that you set for yourself. I compassionately work with clients and empower them to envision and work towards what healing and mental wellness means to them. I believe that change occurs when we understand our patterns of behavior and choose to show up in ways that are more congruent with the goals we set for ourselves. My intention is to never pathologize or label clients, but rather take into account the ways that everyday stressors such as racism, marginalization, oppression, poverty and various other systems play a role in shaping who we are. I am passionate about decreasing the barriers and stigma associated with therapy, especially within the Black and brown community. My hope is that our sessions will support you on your healing journey.
At this time, I am only seeing clients virtually using a secure telehealth platform. If you are interested in scheduling your initial session with me, please use the following link to access the secure and confidential client portal: https://octavia-beyah.clientsecure.me/
