Description
I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore painful and troubling feelings, identify goals, and develop strategies for coping with difficult emotions and circumstances. The development of an acute self- awareness and insight allows people to be better connected to themselves, more engaged in their relationships, and more present in the world around them. I take an active role in therapy sessions, and work with my clients in ways that challenge them to achieve their personal goals.
I have worked with individuals and couples struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, and stress. In addition, I help people with difficult childhood and family experiences including trauma, domestic violence, relationship issues, and transitions who are searching for emotional connection with others as well as a strong sense of self. Though I am trained in providing long-term psychotherapy, I have adapted my techniques to maximize the results of shorter-term treatment.
