Description
I received my Master’s degree in Social work from University of South Carolina. My post-graduate work focuses predominately on child welfare, specifically working with young children, young adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma within their home. I also have considerable experience working with numerous populations such as victims of domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and those who are developmentally disabled. It’s important to know that I’m passionate about helping people overcome barriers and recognizing their strengths, while assisting them with life crises. The gift of effective communication and understanding is so important in helping others achieve positive outcomes. I use a number of different therapeutic approaches when working with clients, focusing mainly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I believe every day is an opportunity to create positive change; I can help you change your mindset and focus your energy on the outcome you want to achieve.
