Are you feeling stuck, burdened, overwhelmed, and helpless? These emotions can become debilitating to the point where they affect several areas of your life (work, school, relationships, and leisure time). In a desperate attempt to make the pain go away, you resort to harmful strategies to reduce your pain by withdrawing, lashing out at those you love, becoming a workaholic, or even using drugs and alcohol. Regrettable, these strategies are maintaining the vicious cycle that you are trapped in. For example, you experience intense sadness and so you withdraw from others, but withdrawal makes the sadness worse. You want to stop the cycle but you don’t know how. Now you are trapped in quicksand and there is no escape. You feel more hopeless and helpless with each day. Nothing you have tried has worked to stop the pain.
Hope is not all gone because therapy can be a means to provide you with relief from your pain. I specialize in treating children and adults who are experiencing significant emotional distress. My approach is to work collaboratively with my clients to identify your unique vicious cycle and to how to stop the cycle in order to enhance your quality of life. I integrate a strengths-based approach in my therapy to highlight your strengths and resources, which can empower you to achieve your goals.
Asking for help can be very difficult, so I work hard to provide an open, caring, nonjudgmental, and empathic environment that will facilitate change. I am completely invested in getting you relief from you pain.
I currently accept the following insurances: United Healthcare and Behavioral Health Systems. I would be considered an out of network provider for all other insurances.
