Hello! My name is Natasha Clarke and I am a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist licensed for over eight years in California. I have experience working with children, individuals, couples and families on a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, parenting challenges, family and relationship issues, and various life changes and adjustment issues. I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds, cultures and life experiences. I identify as an Afro-Latina having Latin Caribbean ancestry. I am an advocate for Black, Latino people of color, LGBTQ and other marginalized communities.
My approach to therapy tends to draw from a humanistic, person-centered approach in that I believe you are the “expert” in the room and my role is to provide you a safe, open and judgment free space to bring out the answers that already lie within you. I believe in creating a space where you can come as you are. My style is open, genuine, welcoming and interactive. I expect the both of us to actively work together throughout the entire process.
My therapeutic approach is an integrative one where I tend to draw from various theoretical orientations, namely person-centered, psychodynamic, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, attachment theory and motivational interviewing. Rest assured I will work closely with you and tailor my therapeutic approach specific to your unique needs in order to help you achieve your desired outcome.
Therapy can be a process that if properly utilized can assist clients in their process of self-discovery. It can be a way to explore and discover your purpose, understand and resolve some of your challenges and learn or unlearn whatever is needed to lead the healthiest life possible.
