Hello! My name is Michelle Burney, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. Are you feeling sad, concerned, anxious or worried? or just needing someone to talk to? My focus is to help promote self-awareness and relieve emotional distress. I have over seven years of experience helping clients in the mental health field. My specialty is working with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship problems, women’s issues, academic-based issues and low self-esteem. I am an adaptable individual, always eager to learn and have successfully worked with individuals from various backgrounds.
I have worked closely with clients struggling with eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, ARFID), depression, anxiety, and comorbidities. I have also provided therapy in various settings such as group practice and residential. As a woman of color, I also understand the issues that inequality and discrimination present for some clients.
The answers are within, sometimes we need a little support to discover them. I would be more than honored to help you along your journey. I hope to continue normalizing mental health, especially in the black community, as well as the importance of seeking support. My practice is exclusively online.
