I work with clients who are experiencing depression and anxiety and the coping strategies that kept their heads above water are no longer working. Together, we create new strategies that help them recognize negative automatic thoughts that keep them frozen in place. and develop a plan that will help them move forward so they are able to reach their therapeutic goals. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Meditation techniques as part of the therapeutic interventions and have been trained in Reiki and herbalism.
Research has demonstrated that the sound of nature is a natural stress reliever and there is increasing evidence that greater contact with it can alleviate depression and anxiety. Gardenwood Counseling Center was created to maximize the healing power of nature. Clients are able to utilize indoor and outdoor spaces during their sessions. They are also welcome to participate in the creation of the healing garden currently under development on the grounds.
