Mayah Taylor is a Resident in Counseling (LPC-R) in the state of Virginia under the clinical supervision of Kendria Pierce, LPC. Mayah has always had a genuine interest and passion to help others since childhood. When she was a child she used to spend time watching her grandmother work as a nurse, and admired her ability to help and heal others. Through the field of counseling, she has found a way to use her skills to provide help and healing to those in need. Mayah believes that anyone seeking help can find peace, wellness, and strength in a warm, supportive therapeutic environment.
Mayah received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She has worked in mental health since 2017. Her professional experience includes providing individual and group therapy in a private practice setting, and working in the hospital setting to provide crisis intervention, discharge planning, and conducting behavioral health assessments as part of treatment planning. She serves clients experiencing a variety of mental health issues and problems surrounding mood disorder, grief, loss, interpersonal/relationship challenges, stress management, and anger management. Mayah’s style in working with clients is to treat each client individually; and tailor counseling techniques to their individual needs and personal circumstances.
When Mayah is not working, she enjoys traveling, bowling, cooking, watching movies, playing video games, visiting different restaurants to enjoy good food, and spending time with her family.
