Hey There! My name is Mautez Bethel, LCPC, NCC. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland, LC8127, as well as a National Certified Counselor. In my clinical experience, I have serviced children, adolescents and adults in both clinic and community-based settings. I have worked with adults, children and families experiencing various mental health concerns (not all listed): Depression, Oppositional Defiance and Conduct, Grief and Loss, ADHD, Autism, Divorce, Parent Incarceration, Anxiety, Self Esteem, Poor Social Skills, as well as School Behavioral Concerns and children with current IEP plans. While my focus has primarily been working with children and helping to build their shield of protection around their mental health, I understand that adults need the same attention. We have to build our shield of protection around both adults and children in order to provide safe, healthy and needed support.
I completed my graduate studies at Marymount University, in Arlington, VA, obtaining a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University, in University Park, PA, obtaining my Bachelor of Art in Political Science with two minors in Women Studies and African American Studies. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and Maryland Counseling Association. Additionally, I am a proud and active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.
