I graduated from Southern University and A&M College with a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana. I am a National Certified Counselor certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have been certified as a Certified Anger Management Specialist II and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I have experience with working with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.
I assist individuals with developing healthy boundaries and healthy effective coping skills to handle life’s stressors, discover that they have choices, which will empower meaning and purpose in their lives in an empathetic and supportive environment. I encourage my clients to get "comfortable" and be themselves. I encourage honesty and transparency for my clients. I allow my clients to take the lead in their therapy session and I guide them.
I use a combination of approaches for counseling, which is based on the client's needs and the nature of the presenting issues. The approaches that I use are psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and person-centered therapy.
