Are you tired of always being the strong one, the dependable one everyone relies on while you’re quietly running on empty?
Do you find yourself pushing your feelings aside, staying busy, or powering through because slowing down doesn’t feel like an option?
On the outside, things may look “together,” but internally, something still feels off.

For many Black women, strength is something we learn early. It shows up in how we carry responsibility, how we show up for others, and how we keep going, even when we’re overwhelmed. But over time, that same strength can make it harder to recognize when you’re exhausted, disconnected, or in need of support.

What’s been pushed down doesn’t just disappear. It can show up in your body, your relationships, your sense of self, or as a level of burnout that rest alone doesn’t fix. You may already have insight, you’ve reflected, done the reading, maybe even been to therapy before but the deeper patterns still feel stuck.

I’m Marisa, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and the owner of Restorative Oasis Counseling & Wellness. I work with high-functioning women who are ready to move beyond emotional autopilot and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.

My work is grounded in Schema Therapy, where we explore the patterns that developed over time and how they continue to shape how you show up today including generational patterns like emotional suppression, over-functioning, and feeling responsible for holding everything together. I integrate ACT, CBT, somatic work, and mindfulness to help you better understand your nervous system and begin responding to yourself with more intention instead of habit.

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I show up as a real person, and I value therapy that feels honest, grounded, and thoughtful. Together, we’ll work toward helping you understand what you’ve been carrying and how to move differently without losing the parts of you that helped you survive.

If you’re ready to do this work, I invite you to schedule a free consultation through my website. I look forward to connecting with you.
