Description

I am an innovative, experienced social worker committed to my client's well-being. I am passionate about helping clients improve their relationships with themselves, families, and friends by enhancing their communication and increasing their emotional intelligence. I am committed to assisting clients in regaining a sense of meaning and purpose by redefining their values, beliefs, needs, and goals. Mutual trust, respect, consistency, empathy, and rapport allow the time spent together to explore patterns, identify problem areas, and develop newer and healthier ways to cope with everyday stressors and struggles.

I received my Bachelor's from Bowling Green State University and a Master's of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

My therapeutic approach in sessions focuses on developing a healthy relationship with clients. Treatment is client-centered, where patience, understanding, and active listening ensures that my clients feel cared about and that what they are feeling and saying is essential. As a black female therapist, I can easily connect and identify with clients who struggle with past traumatic experiences, issues of trust, and the pressure of daily life stressors. I provide a space where clients can be themselves and communicate in a way where they can feel understood. 'No cap' LOL.

I work with men, women, and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, addictions, and a history of trauma. The focus in treatment is to assist clients in overcoming depression, anxiety, substance, and addiction problems by learning new coping skills. My work experience includes working and facilitating change for women, including domestic and sexual abuse survivors create a safe, healing space where they can rebuild trust and regain self-esteem. For clients who struggle with substance abuse, I assisted clients in identifying and exploring what led to their substance abuse and provided the support needed for recovery.

I utilize various techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Music and Art Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, stress management, mood management, anxiety reduction, empowerment, and work/life balance.

My goal is to instill hope and techniques to maintain a lasting positive impact on my client. Becoming a Social Worker is my true passion as I appreciate the in-depth conversations with clients where I have the privilege to learn and better understand myself, people, and relationships through the incredible wisdom of my clients. Guide clients and their input about their goals and the treatment methods that meet their needs.
