Description
As a somatic integrative psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and meditation and mindful movement (yoga, qigong, intuitive movement) teacher, I believe in holistic care and interventions that support the mind, heart, and body. I offer trauma-informed psychotherapy, medication monitoring, mindfulness and somatic-based interventions and wellness approaches.
Therapeutic approaches include Indigenous focusing-oriented trauma therapy (IFOT) which is a form of somatic therapy particularly skillful in healing wounds from complex, intergenerational, race- and oppression-based trauma, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor psychotherapy, Somatic experiencing, and Compassion-focused therapy.
I am presently meeting with clients virtually via telehealth with the possibility for a hybrid approach (occasional in-person appointments in Central NJ) available in the future. I am happy to meet with you for an initial video consultation to further discuss my experience and approach and your needs to see if we would be a good fit to work together.
I provide affirming and racial and social-justice oriented therapeutic approaches. All are welcome including those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), queer, trans, gender queer, and gender non-conforming. Those with visible and invisible disabilities are welcome. Those who are empaths and highly sensitive folx are welcome. Come as you are.
Developing a positive therapeutic relationship with clients is very important to me. It is my goal to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate approach that allows clients to feel safe. I feel like it is essential for clients to play an active role in their mental health treatment and I work collaboratively with clients in developing their treatment goals and interventions.
