Description
Please note: at this time, my practice is temporarily closed to new clients.
This is a deeply complicated time, where many are suffering from anxiety and isolation, among other forms of distress. Coronavirus has added a new dimension to our emotional and physical lives. Whether you are an essential worker, concerned about bringing the virus home to loved ones, a medical worker on the front lines, or quarantined at home, Covid-19 is compounding the issues we all deal with daily. I am available to see new clients online, via Zoom and FaceTime for the duration of the quarantine.
My practice includes: Individual therapy for adult women. Family and couples therapy, Trauma and PTSD, Adoption-related issues, Infidelity, Infertility, Adolescents, Bereavement, Multiracial identity/Interracial families, Family systems, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Grief Recovery Method.
I have a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and a Post-Masters Certification in family and couples therapy from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. I specialize in the areas of adolescence (including self-harm and cyber bullying), adoption-related identity and parenting issues, multicultural individuals, couples and families. As a therapist, one of my missions is to help you recognize that while your experiences-your fears, your losses, your triumphs-are unique, you are not alone.
Whether you're a parent struggling to connect with your angry teen, a teenager enduring grueling college-prep stress, or a couple faced with infidelity, we'll start where you are and through our connection, work our way through the stumbling blocks to a happier, more harmonious place.
Though I do not take insurance at this time, many carriers reimburse a portion of my fee. Check with your insurance company to find out what your benefits cover in terms of out of network mental health. In some cases, I can work on a sliding fee scale.
