Hi! My name is Lindsey Mckoy and I’m an eclectic therapist. That means I don’t have a theoretical home and like to travel. I chose this because I do not like to force a person to fit one theoretical orientation but rather examine the person and see which approach would best benefit them. I do mainly draw from Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, Adlerian, and Feminist theory. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals and groups and the most important take away is that everyone has a story they want to tell, but so many have not had the opportunity. I want offer you that space to finally and fully be heard. My ideal client is someone who is open to the process but lacks self-awareness. They want to learn how to set/enforce boundaries and communicate their needs to others. They may struggle with motivation, shame, guilt or a low self-esteem but there is a desire to better themselves and their lives. Life is hard. Accepting that you need help and asking for it can be even harder. The fact that you are considering therapy is a huge accomplishment in and of itself because you realize that you cannot go it alone anymore. I want to walk with you through this journey and help you achieve a version of yourself that you are proud of. My hope for you is that when, not if, you reach out for help, you will be able to receive it with an open heart and mind, because you truly deserve it.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING:
First Visit: 60 minutes – $75
Subsequent Visits: 45 minutes – $75
COUPLES OR FAMILY COUNSELING:
First Visit: 60 minutes – $75
Subsequent Visits: 45 minutes – $75
