Dr. Mickens is a Licensed Psychologist committed to providing quality psychotherapy with a special interest in validating the experience of Black women and mothers. With a background in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and health psychology, Dr. Mickens values the unique and universal aspects of human experience. As a former professor, she continues to value diversity in education and lifting consciousness.
Dr. Mickens is the Director of the Mother Matters program in Southern California. The program aims to improve the lives of mothers through individual therapy, group therapy, community resourcing, and friendship.
