I am LaTeshia, a Mental Health Professional who specializes in Substance Use Disorder Treatment. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA where I majored in Sociology; and my Masters of Science degree at Longwood University, majoring in Community & College Counseling. I began my career in Substance Use treatment in 2004 while working as a treatment provider at a residential Substance Use program. It was there that I gained a love for helping provide hope, strength, and the belief in a better life for those struggling with Substance Use Disorders.
Since then I have utilized my skills as a treatment provider in Community Service Boards and Correctional Institutions in the state of Virginia over the past 16 years. I am credentialed as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and am nearing the completion of the Licensed Professional Counselor process. I am also certified as an Emergency Services Clinician by the Commonwealth of Virginia. I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches in my service delivery but rely heavily on CBT, MI, Mindfulness, DBT, and Gestalt techniques. So if you or a loved one is ready to put in the work that it takes to achieve a successful recovery from the disease of addiction, I am here to help you break free of the cycle of addiction and its negative effects on the family system.
