Description
Hello! My name is Dr. LaTasha Miller. I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I currently reside. I graduated with my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, focusing on general mental health. I am a psychologist licensed in North Carolina and Washington. I have worked in various settings, including outpatient mental health agencies that serve those identifying as a part of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC populations and the VA Health System that serves the veteran population.
I received training in several evidence-based psychotherapies, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Skills Training in Affective & Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I utilize an integrated approach to care; I like to tailor my evidence-based interventions to the client's specific needs.
I believe the most important aspects of psychotherapy are safety and the therapeutic relationship. I have worked with people from all backgrounds and noticed one significant commonality: each person sitting across from me desires to be seen and understood. Everyone needs to feel supported before sharing. Many of my clients have experienced depression, trauma, anxiety, and life stress; my goal is to help you process your concerns and bear witness to your growth. I enjoy working with those who are eager to improve their emotional functioning and deepen their understanding of themselves. I'm excited to meet you!
