As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I am committed to providing a supportive and safe, empathic environment with a reduction in symptoms. I support my clients in each therapy session by focusing on their needs and therapeutic goals. I assist clients in fulfilling their treatment goals by providing them with a healthy therapeutic rapport, emapthy, trust, and a non-judmental environment.
When you are considering beginning therapy it's likely that you want to change behaviors or feelings that you've struggled with for some time. You're probably at a point of major frustration.
Using a strengths-based approach we will be intentional about what is working or has been working, in spite of the challenges of life. Together we will work towards recognizing your strengths and use them to improve your overall wellness.
I have worked with many clients who experience depressive symptoms or may have a diagnosis of depression. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients reduce negative or unhelpful thoughts and behaviors through practical problem-solving and homework assignments. Over the years I've learned that many of us deal with trauma by pretending it did not happen and avoiding it. We both know that this does not work because doing so does not address the problem. Using CBT, I will help you address your mental and emotional needs, so that you can overcome the damaging effects of traumatic past events.
Along with being a clinician, I am also a Coach. Coaching focuses on introspection and is action-oriented to resolve certain issues you may have. Coaching relies heavily on problem-solving skills to help you manage stress or other issues. I will provide the space and structure for reflection that will be essential for your learning and growth. It is the goal to help you reconnect with what you love about your life.
The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is the ability to be a part of helping my clients reach their goals with confidence! Sometimes you just feel stuck! No matter how hard you attempt to move forward the more overwhelmed you feel. I certainly understand that life has its peaks and valleys, which makes it difficult to navigate at times. I've worked with numerous clients to help them get "unstuck"! I'm committed to providing you with a safe place and an empathic ear to aid in the reduction of anxiety.
