Hello, my name is Kisha Winston Watkins. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with almost 20 years of clinical experience. I have extensive experience working with adults ages 18-65 to resolve internal conflicts impeding optimal functioning. My specialty areas include depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. I also have extensive experience working with individuals with childhood traumas. Using an evidence-based, solution-focused, person-centered approach, I offer a healing therapeutic space where my clients can focus on themselves.
My treatment philosophy is grounded in a person-centered approach with unbiased, objective support to address presenting concerns. This process starts at intake and terminates when goals are met. My office is fully virtual with flexible office hours to accommodate routine and non-routine service requests. I use a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that ensures confidentiality and has proven to be convenient, safe, and secure.
An intake appointment is offered within 5 days of initial contact and this appointment usually lasts 90 minutes. Treatment plans are individualized; therefore, appointment frequencies will vary according to treatment needs; however, routine appointments are 60 minutes per session.
I realize how hard the decision may be for some to seek therapy; therefore, I provide a comprehensive overview of services informing my clients of my approach, practice style, and what they can expect during the course of care. I aim to help make this experience as comfortable as possible and reduce fear-based thoughts that interfere with self-care and growth.
