Asking for help takes a lot of courage, especially when you're used to going through things alone. From the outside, you're the "strong" one, the dependable one, the one who has it all together... but the mask of perfection can be exhausting and lonely. On the inside, you may be feeling lost, hurt, angry, abandoned, and anxious -- struggling to be honest with yourself and the people closest to you. You're finally ready to face these painful feelings, but you have no clue where to start. It feels impossible to let go of the past, let your guard down, and trust yourself again. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone who "gets it."
As an intuitive therapist, I understand the unique experiences of Black, Afro-Caribbean, and other Women of Color, particularly those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. I know the deep pains that hide behind the "mask of perfection"-- anxiety, depression, strained relationships, identity concerns, cultural stress, difficult life transitions, and low self-esteem. I know how hard it can be to sit still, open up your heart, and allow yourself to feel.
Therapy takes time and commitment, but the changes you make will be lasting! I am here to guide you through the process, helping you face the parts of yourself that you've avoided for so long. My therapy style is honest, warm, and empowering. I use trauma-informed approaches to unearth the beliefs that are keeping you locked in cycles of fear and pain. I accept you for who you are, and will gently challenge you to live in alignment with your truth!
