Are you feeling anxious, alone, or isolated, but feel that you have no one to talk to about it? Are you struggling to build or maintain important relationships but don’t understand why? Are you undergoing a major life transition and having difficulty adjusting? Perhaps you have a significant pattern or habit in your life that you know is working against you, but you don’t know how to change it. You may also get the sense that you’re the only one who feels the way you do. You have some issues you want to address but don’t know where to start. First of all, know that you are not alone and help is available. In working together, we can identify the reason behind your unhappiness, discover where it comes from, and help move you toward a healthier version of yourself.
My ideal clients recognize that they have a concern or problem that is significantly impacting their lives. They may struggle with anxiety or stress and would like some coping mechanisms. They may have difficulty establishing healthy relationships and need help with interpersonal skills. They may have a lot of frustration in dating and/or friendships and personal connections. They may have lost their sense of compassion and empathy and are therefore hard on themselves and others. They may rail against the injustices of microaggressions, macroaggressions, and biases, and struggle with the angst they bring. They know that addressing these issues in a helpful and positive manner will allow for major life changes and consequently provide some much needed relief.
I am a strong proponent of and believer in person-centered, compassion-focused therapy. My therapeutic focus includes management of stress and anxiety, career changes, life transitions, emerging adult concerns, dating, relationship, and friendship difficulties, and managing the stresses caused by everyday racism and discrimination.
If anything I've mentioned here resonates with you and speaks to the kind of help you are seeking, please do get in touch. I look forward to working together.
